In 59 years, the Literacy Council of Montgomery County (LCMC) has grown in size and scope, but there is one thing that remains the same: LCMC believes that no matter where you're from or how you grew up, it is never too late to get the quality education that can change your life.
LCMC faces an ever-growing need for its services. Montgomery County is a bustling, vibrant, populous community, home to DC-area natives, immigrants from all over the world, and everything in between. Not only do 1 in 7 adults in Montgomery County need help improving their English proficiency, over 62,000 lack their high school diploma or US equivalent. As more and more of the community finds out about LCMC, more and more of these tens of thousands of individuals ask us for help. We are committed to growing to meet that need.
We've grown a lot over the decades, but in 2021, we are no longer Montgomery County's "best kept secret" and we must grow to be able to serve those individuals with the courage to come forward and change their lives.

Appreciated securities that you have owned for more than one year could qualify for a charitable income-tax deduction for the full fair market value.
