Teach Computer Skills

Currently, we offer basic Computer Skills classes to adult learners of many backgrounds. Adults in these classes learn the very basics of computer usage and navigation, as often their backgrounds have not required computer skills in previous life or work environments.

We also offer Digital Literacy instruction to parents of children enrolled in Head Start through our partnership with a Pre-K program in Rockville. While their children are receiving Pre-K instruction, these learners receive both free ESL instruction as well as Digital Literacy instruction. Digital literacy is the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills. Often, underserved adults lack the basic computer and digital literacy skills that have helped advance so many others to more easily navigate the workforce and everyday life.

We are always looking for more computer-savvy volunteers willing to teach either or both of these skill sets. For more information on how to volunteer your time for this programming, please fill out this form.
