Ways to Give
Every year, the Literacy Council of Montgomery County serves over 2,000 adults in our community by providing free and low-cost adult education and workforce development services. Every learner we serve makes our community stronger, as one more person joins the workforce, participates actively in their community, continues on to higher education, or even all of the above. You can help us continue to build a stronger community by making a gift today.

Host or fundraise for an Event
Know a lot of people who would be interested in making even a few small gifts to adult education? Set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook, set up a fundraising page for us on Giving Tuesday, dedicate your 5K to raising money for us, or reach out to us with other ideas! Own a local business that hosts charity nights or donates a percentage of purchases to a local charity? Reach out to us! You can also check out our calendar to find an upcoming fundraising event to attend. Contact our Assistant Director of Development, Barhynn Johnson, at barhynn@lcmcmd.org with any questions or other ideas to support LCMC by fundraising for us!
Employee Giving
Does your employer have a charitable giving program? Our EIN is 52-0852549 - ask your employer to automatically donate a pre-tax amount of your choosing each pay period, month, or year. If you are a federal employee, an employee of the state of Maryland, or your employer participates in the United Way’s employee giving program, you can select LCMC as your charity of choice with the number on our badges for the Combined Federal Campaign, Maryland Charity Campaign, and the United Way of the National Capital Area here.
stock or mutual fund
Donating stocks, bonds or mutual funds is good for our programs and good for you! LCMC solicits and accepts gifts of stock, bonds and mutual funds. Appreciated securities that you have owned for more than one year could qualify for a charitable income-tax deduction for the full fair market value. A direct transfer donation from your IRA could have additional benefits to you. Make sure to discuss these options with your tax advisor.
For Stock Donations please contact the Washington Wealth Group at (202) 930-6011 for delivery instructions.
